Dear me, Americans don't like hockey

This is a picture taken at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona during the second period of last night's Kings/Coyotes affair. The announced attendance was 6,706. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers drew just 11,580. Just 12,830 came out to watch the Colorado Avalanche take on the San Jose Sharks in a repeat of a freaking playoff series from last year. Tampa Bay's new, exciting team? Just 13,333.

Wednesday night saw the Atlanta Thrashers draw 8,820 and the Columbus Blue Jackets bring out 9,802. A slow clap to all the marketers in the United States who have been able to capitalize on the success of the American Olympic Team and one of the most exciting Stanley Cup Playoffs we've had in a while.
